What is a currency converter?
A currency converter multiplies an amount by a reference rate for the selected pair. This tool uses institutional reference data aggregated by Frankfurter and separately shows the rate date, fetch time and cache status.
How this currency converter works
Each pair is requested directly, without placing your amount in a network request. Swapping the currencies recalculates immediately from the loaded reference rate.
Exchange-rate source and update frequency
ToolkitLoop uses Frankfurter v2 through a server-side cache. Frankfurter aggregates institutional reference data. The provider’s publication date is shown as the rate date, separately from the time this site fetched it. The default cache is one hour; if the provider is temporarily unavailable, an older usable cache is explicitly labelled.
Reference rate vs your bank or card rate
A reference rate is useful for comparison, but it is not your bank, card-network or ATM settlement price. Your charge can differ because of issuer rates, markups, foreign-transaction fees, fixed fees and timing.
How to check a historical exchange rate
This first release focuses on a transparent current/reference conversion. Historical-date and trend analysis will be added to this same tool rather than as empty or duplicate pages.
How fees can change your actual conversion cost
Card and ATM fees vary by product, location and transaction, so this tool does not assume a fixed percentage. A future fee mode will let you enter assumptions and clearly distinguish its estimate from the reference rate.

Frequently asked questions
What exchange-rate source does this converter use?
The converter requests a currency pair from Frankfurter, which aggregates published institutional reference-rate data. The result labels it as a reference rate, not a card, bank or ATM quote.
When was this rate updated?
The result shows the rate date published by the data source separately from the time ToolkitLoop fetched it. Cached and stale states are labelled rather than being presented as current.
Why can my card charge differ from this conversion?
Banks, card networks and ATM operators can use a different rate, add a markup, or charge transaction and fixed fees. This core converter does not estimate those charges.
Are exchange rates live?
No. This tool presents transparent reference data and does not describe it as a live, real-time or executable rate.
Is my amount private?
Yes. Your amount is calculated in the browser. ToolkitLoop sends only the selected currency codes to its rate endpoint, not the amount you type.
Reference data you can inspect.
A usable older cache is labelled rather than being presented as new data.
The server receives only currency codes; the page does not record the raw amount.
